Burj Al Arab by d---b Burj Al Arab by d---b
This is the only seven star hotel in the world - the Burj Al Arab in Dubai. The inside is totally over the top: everything seems to be covered with gold and designed to within an inch of its life. I thought the outside was even more impressive though, especially at night when they turn all the lights on.

Well let me know what you think when you get there! (I'm sorry for my ignorance, but my Arabic is'n't very good! Does "inshallahu ta'aala" mean something along the lines of "If Allah wills it"?) :)

It certainly was an incredible sight - you should see it when the lights change colour; it's such a fantastic show.

Fantastic image - one could be forgiven for thinking it's a sci-fi spacecraft.

I do beleive that there is a new 7 star hotel about to open in Scotland. I was there during the construcion/renovation of an old castle.

Fair enough, although given that the seven stars are self-awarded I'd imagine this Scottish place will be doing the same thing.

Well i dont think it is open yet, so it is still the only 7 star in the world. But the Scottish one looks pretty damn nice, should be good once open.

Great picture by the way

An amazing building to photograph, especially considering the lights keep changing colour throughout the night. Agree with it being totally over the top, though what isn't in the UAE? :P

Heh - it's true! And I've got several photos of the building in different colours as the lights shifted. It was pretty spectacular though - my cousin even took me and another cousin to afternoon tea in the skybar (that little bit coming out the top on the left). Very posh and very very cool :D

Very sharp picture!!You managed to get the perfect sharp of the building, keeping the colors bright, plus the blue reflection on the water.
Did you use PS to enhance the colors? If not, I must congratulate you for this perfect shot.

As a matter of fact, this photo is pretty much as it was straight off the camera. The only editing performed was the adding of the borders (naturally!), and the removal of some miscoloured pixels from the night sky - tiny specks of red and blue where my sensor isn't as healthy as it should be. Thank you very much for such positive feedback :)
